Felder “Fats” Fitzgerald- is also a versatile musician and singer and has performed with such artists as Bobby Vinton, Elvis Presley, and several big name orchestras. He also played with Ace Cannon. Fats has also managed his own group," The Playboys".

 

 

 

 

 

Galen Jeter - Galen Jeter, director and co-founder of Dallas Jazz Orchestra (DJO) Jazz band based in Dallas, Texas.  DJO was founded in the year 1973. It has produced notable recordings of which two were Grammy nominated Galen himself is an alumnus of the University of Texas “One O’clock Band”, later going to play for “The Woody Herman Orchestra”. You can now join Galen at his weekly performance, every Sunday afternoon at The Village Country Club in Dallas TX

 

 

 

 

 

Stu Melis - Stu Melis is a professional musician currently based in the Dallas- Fort Worth area.
Since moving to the Dallas area in the 80’s, he toured extensively with and was a featured soloist with the bands of R&B singer Johnny Taylor, Stax Records biggest selling artist of all time, and blues singer Bobby “Blue” Bland. He has performed at major national and international Jazz and Blues festivals including the Monterey, Montreux, North Sea, Nice, and Paris Jazz Festivals. He now is a freelance performer in the Dallas area, working with many of the area’s most notable bands and musicians, including Bob Stewart and Company, Dallas Brass & Electric, Soul Caribe, The Texas Chamber Orchestra, Dave Alexander’s Legends of Western Swing, and is currently playing lead alto with Galen Jeter’s Dallas’ Original Jazz Orchestra.

 

 

Al Miralez / Drummer - Al is one of the best versatile drummers in the music business. Has played with some of the finest bands throughout DFW area. His talent is displayed when he is performing with Israel and The Sweet Sound Band.

 

 

 

 

 

Sammy Jay Guitar/Vocalist -Sammy Jay started playing professionally in the year 1948. At the age of 14, he formed his own group “Little Sammy and The Rocking Rollers”. Throughout the years, He played with names such as Fats Domino, Ray Charles, Bobby Taylor, Kenny Rodgers, Bobby Doyle, BJ Thomas, and Johnny Williams. He moved to Dallas and played with the Dallas County Band, Gaylon Jeter, Floyd Deco, Larry Randall, and played the Byron Nelson yearly. He then played special shows periodically with Israel and The sweet Sound Band. In 1990 he decided to partner in with Israel Cavazos and played at all local dinner clubs Arthurs, Ernie’s, Farfellows, Cuppachinos, and numerous others in the DFW area.
